The post lately have been meaty. Tonight, I’m selecting a topic I believe is necessary…rest.
I often pray for others and myself that we’re able to work from a place of rest.
But what does this mean?
In serving & studying God, I realize that most times we do entirely too much. All His questions are rhetorical because He’s omniscient (knows everything). Therefore, whatever He asks us to do, be or go…it’s already handled. Already provided for. In fact, scriptures reminds us that He knows what we’re going to pray before we ask it. This is one of my favorites reminders…
“I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!”
Isaiah 65:24 NLT
This verse is indicative of the character of the Father. BEFORE you even ask, He’s handled the need. While you’re “talking”…it is done.
Earlier today, I was reviewing my to do list, & God shared I was doing too much. He said once He tells me what to do, just do it. Until then rest because you have no instructions. Speaking to someone who is a doer, this took me aback for a moment until I reminded myself “He’s God Ebony, & knows the end from the beginning, just rest.” Yes, I was giving myself a pep talk…the Word reminds us to encourage ourselves in the Lord :).
