Priority
I woke up this morning hearing a loud shout: God FIRST! God sets our priority. Our equates to the Body of Christ :), He sets the priority for our spiritual and natural walk. Matthew 6:33 says to "seek FIRST the kingdom of God and EVERYTHING will be added to you." This is the literal blueprint to KINGdom success. When I initially read this, I thought...when you say everything, what exactly do You mean Father? Everything translates to your needs. Dare we confer that if our needs are missing, we should consider whether or not we have placed God FIRST.
God is our priority. The priority of our time, life, matters, and ultimate relationship with Him. He should be getting the FIRST of our day (before the phone or work) or anything non-essential. He sets the tone for the day. Beginning in prayer, worship, reading the Bible, sitting in the silence of His presence creates the priority of the day.
I typically wake up to 25 plus missed texts, a few calls and emails that I dare not count. Admittedly, I've consistently & intentionally given the Father the FIRST of my day for years. It is in this still place He often reveals, instructs for the day, or just restores simply with His presence. Ever so often, He may drop someone in my heart to call or send a scripture to. It makes for a great FIRST start of the morning. But then...time to apply what was provided during our quiet time.
As Believers, many of us are accustomed to setting our day with God in whatever way that looks like for you. Worship music in the morning while fixing breakfast for the family for some, silent meditation while walking the dog or listening to the Bible app during exercise for others. All unique to the individual & necessary to all but the application is what's key.
I've referenced on the HERspace Blog Solomon's life as the wisest to ever live, yet he allowed his heart to be turned from his God despite repeated warnings and more wisdom than everyone around. This intensifies the need of application of God's Word. Yes, we know to seek God FIRST of our day but not just the day, our lives.
The FEAR of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fear in this verse translates to reverence, humble submission, and innate following. Whatever He says, we have to do. The Lord has given us all a priority. He places us here on earth on purpose with a purpose. We are assigned to families, jobs, communities, and all relationship types to represent Him in the places He has called us to. It doesn't matter the call, God should be involved.
I'm going to share a transparent moment. Today, I heard the Father ask me (rhetorically)...am I your priority really?
Is God really your priority?
Before, I recount the conversation, I will say that I'm solely the writer of the blog and have to live out the Word just like everyone else. I would like to tell you that the majority of the days I apply everything He shares but that would not be honest. Today...Mondayed. Despite knowing what God set as priority of my day and this season of my life, there were multiple distractions and matters to tend to that seemed to take priority. I was frustrated to say the least.
By the end of the day, I was over it and wanted to pick up food, shower and go to bed. As I was making up my mind to do just that while listening to a call, I heard: Discipline...it matters to God! Once again, it sounded like a shout.
I knew God was trying to tell me something....
He reminded me He told me to cook daily, cook fresh, cook a lot, cook from scratch as much as possible and invite people to eat three times a week. He said creating the discipline in the small things now builds the character to withstand the setups for tomorrow. I refrained from "questioning" from the last blog and made a big meal just for me.
It takes discipline
Life doesn't stop but we still have to obey. I gave a simple example and one of the many instructions of this season. I'm sure many of you have busier lives, more responsibilities and obligations, whatever our role, God's will must be accomplished FIRST.
I was looking through a journal note this morning, & it says, "look up! Everything you need is up. Keep looking up. Keep = to persist. Do not stop until it is reached. Go for the gold."
How fitting, now that I'm reflecting over the day. Our flesh, life "stuff," the enemy sometimes works in tandem against the very area the Lord has assigned us to persist in.
In order to have everything God has slated, we must, persist in prayer and persist in the priority He has given us. No excuses! Just do it. Get up early or stay up late if necessary but do what God says as though your life depends on it. Because technically, it does.
What would life look like if we obeyed God the FIRST time all the time?
Here's a challenge, write down the way you're going to make your relationship with God the FIRST priority (the first of your day especially). Subsequently, pray/ask then write down what He has slated as your priorities of this season. Whatever they are do them FIRST of your day.
You may be saying I have a husband and five children, a demanding job or some other pressing responsibility. One word: persist. Do it anyway and do it FIRST.
I'm curious what our lives will look like if we honored and feared God in such a way that whatever He said, whenever HE said it and however HE gave His instructions, we made it first.
Do you want leftovers everyday -- leftover energy -- leftover effort -- or to be the afterthought? God wants us to put Him, what He has instructed for our lives and this season FIRST.
Here's the thing, it's going to be good. He's given me some insight, see below.
Expansion is coming for those that belong to God but within broken systems
A deconstruction of a sorts is coming not solely to America but the world. Many of the systems and structures that we were once dependent on will be no longer or at least not in the same way once accustomed.
God looks out, warns, and protects those that belong to Him. However, all of the onus is not on God, we must obey the Father. But when? FIRST.
The Lord is going to expand the territories of those that belong to Him and obey. Territories may be the mind, finance, literal land and/or more. But He is not competing. The Father wants us to put Him FIRST. He re-establishing order. Put God FIRST, in your day (i.e. time with Him), and in whatever HE has instructed as priority of this season.
The 5 a.m. wake up call
Wake up with God. I've found there is something about the 5 a.m. hour. I want you to join me in waking up at 5 a.m. for the remainder of March 2025 and dedicate the entire hour to the Lord. Read the Bible, sing, write to Him, prayer but whatever you are doing, do it solely unto God. Set this as your priority and do it in the same place, if possible. If it needs to be earlier, please do so but give Him one full hour. Let's just see what happens when we make the Father the priority of our life and time.
