When you think of a woman, what do you think of? Don’t just state Proverbs 31 if that isn’t what comes to mind.
As a declared logophile, many words arise. On this FIRST day of Women’s Month, “SOULY for You” is prominent.
Women are necessary, givers…literal life pushers. Physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. In prayer, I heard the words “SOULY for You” as the Father began to speak to me about women. The exchange birthed the mentorship group, “SOULY for Women.”
Women no matter the status will pour. But it’s time to be replenished - - restored. I found the below statistics interesting:
Heart disease remains the #1 silent killer of women.
Women remain the most educated holding 51% of degrees earned. Yet leadership roles & pay are not commensurate with this fact.
Women with an established family unit & social circle have longer life expectancy than those without.
The list goes on. Don’t be disheartened by data, with God there is always hope and an answer. See the below verse:
“Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny.”
Ecclesiastes 6:10 NLT
Some things are destiny and others are totally in our control. Differentiating between these adds life. I’m a true believer in “with God everything changes…for the good.” Life is just better with Him even on the worse of days.
Mentoring is dear to me for reasons I’ll share another time. This morning, I was reminded “you’re a mentor.” I hear this and am asked frequently to mentor. When I initially began my current job my boss who I barely knew told me, “I hired you because they need to see you.”
If I may be transparent, I thought perfection was required in most areas & increased age 😊 to mentor. But the Father reminded me, it’s the God in me. Just like everything else in my life where His Spirit subrogated years. The quote on the back of my book, Affirmations for H.E.R. is "my greatest success is my relationship with God." This relationship has been, is and will always be the foundation & continuance of my success professionally, personally and prophetically.
I’m not for everyone & I fully recognize and am okay with this. Who am I for? Women who desire to keep Faith at the center of everything. & live their life on full no matter the state or status. We’re defying odds with God.
Before I leave you, take a look at the definition of mentoring. It means to share knowledge, skills and experience to help someone else grow. In other words it activates, pushes and pulls out what you may not see in yourself.
Mentoring, just like women is necessary.
