When you think of a builder, what are the initial attributes or images that come to mind?

*Hard hats

*Muscles

*Strength

*Patience

As we close out this final day of Love month, consider Proverbs 14:1.

It simply says, a wise woman builds her home and a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

I was minding my business one day & heard, tear down your traditions. Most do not correlate women as builders. Biblically, we were the foundation, birthers and builders of our homes, families, Faith, and community.

In Proverbs 14, the home is translated in some versions as her family. Traditionally, women are not thought of as "builders" of the family. However, that's exactly what we do. We build with our love, time, attention, the list goes on.

One thing about building, it takes time! Time generally requires patience. You can differentiate the wise woman from the foolish not by looking in the moment but in due time and season, what she builds will either stand beautifully and strong or if she's foolish, it will surely fall.

The wise woman's home withstands the test of time.

Do you remember the "Three Little Pigs and the big bad wolf?"

The first pig built a house of straw, it was a quick build leaving time to play but easily destroyed by the wolf when he blew the house down.

The second pig built the home with sticks, it took a little longer but still significant time to play. However, the wolf also blew that house down.

The last pig remembered the words of his mother, took a longer time, neglected playing games and built a

brick home. The wolf visited and couldn't blow the house down. When he entered the chimney, the pig set a fire destroying the wolf.

Yes, I just told you a bed time story. God uses the foolish things to confound the wise.

What's the lesson? Build slow. Build intentionally. Follow the words of your Father and when the wolf (thief...the enemy) comes, your home will withstand the test of time.

If you observed the first two pigs in the moment, they may have looked like winners with a new home and plenty of time to play. However, if those pigs lit a fire like the pig with the brick home, their homes would have been consumed.

Foolish in love might be a great song to some but horrible application to love. Choose wisdom. Choose to love God's way irregardless of traditions or feelings.

God is calling us off the playground. Choose not to be idle with your time, there's much to do. What you're building is not solely for you, with God, it's always about the Generations to come. On the tough days, silent ones, or... fill in the blank...keep building. Predetermine in your mind you were created to love God's way. & withstand every test including time.

As you're building a life of love God's way, no matter what the moment brings or may look like, remember your Father's words. In the end, you win. Be a wise builder. ❤️
