Hello! Thank you to my friend with the “radio voice” and face for TV for doing justice to my professional bio.
But here is the other side—the real…
I share my credentials because I’ve earned them, and many people want to understand what qualifies you to serve in your area of expertise.
However, my reality is this: I am fully equipped by God to serve in every past, present, and future role because He predestined me to be there. I’m simply walking in His path.
As an educator, I’ve worked with multiple generations of emerging professionals. One consistent theme I’ve observed is that their pursuit of success often lacks Christ as the source. The dependency tends to lean on intellect or resources—and when life requires a pivot, everything begins to shake. Dreams feel uncertain. Identity feels challenged.
I’ve come to believe that previous generations have, in some ways, done a disservice by not fully sharing the depth of life’s process. The truth is, the only sustainable foundation is Faith.
Recently, I shared a story about a woman deep in the ocean. Her family and friends stood on the shore yelling, “Swim!”—but she couldn’t. In her desperation, she looked to Heaven and prayed. She heard one word: WALK.
It immediately brought to mind Peter and Jesus.
Moments of faith won’t always make sense. They may even cause hesitation. Logically, we swim in water—we don’t walk. But Peter didn’t begin to sink until he shifted his focus from Jesus to the wind and the waves.
The same is true for us. No matter the season, we must remain steadfast in our focus on Jesus—ignoring the noise, the pressure, and the uncertainty—and continue to follow His instruction: WALK.
I share this intentionally and strategically because my true vocation is serving the Body of Christ—though it may be expressed through roles such as educator, jurist, author, or leader.
And I’ve learned this isn’t just a struggle for youth or young adults—it’s a multi-generational reality.
Stay tuned this week as I share resources that can support you both personally and professionally.
